Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

NuvoTube (“NuvoTube”, “we”, “us”) is an Android video player application. This policy explains what information the app and the nuvotube.com website handle, why, and what choices you have. It applies to the app however you installed it, from Google Play or as a direct APK download.

The controller responsible for this information is SHINMEI LLC, a company registered in Osaka Prefecture, Japan.

2. The short version

• NuvoTube is free and does not ask you to create an account, so we do not hold a profile about you.
• What you watch, where you stopped, and your settings stay on your device.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
• Some technical information is processed so the app can run, stay secure and be improved.

3. Information you give us

None is required. There is no sign-up, no profile and no contact details to enter in order to use NuvoTube. If you email us for support, we hold that message and your email address so we can reply.

4. Information that stays on your device

The app stores the following locally so that it works between sessions. It is not uploaded to us:

• playback history and the position you reached in a video;
• your queue, favourites and any lists you create;
• app settings, such as your preferred quality and language;
• temporary cache files used for smooth playback; and video and audio files you choose to download for offline use.

You can clear this from within the app, or by clearing the app's storage in Android settings. Uninstalling the app removes it, subject to how your version of Android handles app data.

5. Technical information processed when you use the app

To deliver video and keep the service working we process:

• Device and app information — device model and manufacturer, Android version, app version, language, region and network type. Used for compatibility, diagnosing faults and security.
• Connection information — your IP address is visible to the servers that deliver content and to our own services when the app makes a request. It is used to route the response, to apply rate limits and to prevent abuse.

Our own services receive your device identifier (device ID). It is used for application usage analytics and service improvement. The device ID is recorded only in our backend server logs and is not kept in a separate, persistent device-identifier database. Server logs, including the device IDs they contain, are kept for a maximum of 30 days and are then deleted automatically.

6. Permissions the app asks for

We do not request access to your contacts, your camera, your microphone or your precise location.

7. Analytics

NuvoTube uses Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics) to understand how the app is used and to improve its functionality, performance and user experience. Depending on the analytics features configured, Firebase Analytics may process app usage events, device and operating system information, app version information and technical identifiers associated with analytics. Google is the service provider responsible for Firebase Analytics.

8. Advertising

NuvoTube shows in-app advertisements through Google AdMob, which is the only advertising network the app uses. Depending on the advertising configuration, Google AdMob may process advertising identifiers, IP address and device information, ad interaction data, and the information needed to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud.

The AdMob integration includes Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Where it is required, including for users in the European Economic Area, the app shows a consent dialog and manages your choices through it. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android device settings.

9. Crash and performance reporting

NuvoTube uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting, diagnostics and stability monitoring. Crash reports may include crash details and stack traces, the device model and operating system version, the app version, and technical identifiers and diagnostic data relevant to investigating the crash. They are used only to find and fix faults and to improve reliability.

10. Third parties

NuvoTube relies on these services provided by Google: Google AdMob (advertising, including the User Messaging Platform), Firebase Analytics (usage analytics) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting). Each handles information under Google's own privacy policy and data retention practices. We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising unrelated to the app.

Where you install the app from Google Play, Google processes the installation under its own privacy policy; that is between you and Google, and we do not receive your Google account details.

11. Video content and other services

NuvoTube plays video that is made available by other services. When a video is played, the service hosting it may receive your IP address and technical request information, and handles it under its own privacy policy. NuvoTube is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any video platform.

12. Keeping information

Information stored on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Information processed by our services is kept only as long as needed for the purpose described, and then deleted or anonymised — see section 5. Data processed independently by Google (AdMob, Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics) is subject to Google's own retention practices.

13. Where information is processed

NuvoTube is available in several countries, and information may be processed in a country other than your own, including where our providers operate their servers (our own backend servers are located in Singapore, and Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may process information in other regions according to their own infrastructure and privacy policies). Where the law requires it, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards.

14. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent you have given. Because NuvoTube has no accounts, most information either sits on your own device, where you control it directly, or is not linked to you as an identifiable person.

• European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR) — our lawful bases are the performance of the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and reliable, and your consent where consent is required, such as for personalised advertising. You may complain to your national data protection authority.
• Brazil (LGPD) — you may confirm the existence of processing, access, correct, anonymise or delete data, and ask about sharing with third parties.
• Thailand (PDPA) — you may access, correct, erase, object to processing, and withdraw consent.
• Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau — you may exercise the rights given by the data protection law that applies where you live.

To exercise any of these, write to [email protected]. We may need to verify your request, and we answer within the period the applicable law allows.

15. Children

NuvoTube is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13 years old. Where the law of your country requires a higher minimum age or additional protections, those requirements apply. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

16. Security

We apply safeguards appropriate to the information involved, including encrypted connections for network requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

17. Changes

We update this policy when the app, our providers or the law change. The effective date at the top shows the current version, and material changes will be announced in the app or on this page before they take effect.
